I adore writing, but my comfort zone is editing. I find immense joy in reading through a book, a magazine article, or even my husband’s college papers and correcting errors.
As far as experience, my college degree is in English with a journalism minor. I spent my college career as an editor at the school’s newspaper. Upon graduation I was a proofreader at Kohl’s Corporate (yes, the department store!) where I was on the team of final fact checkers for the print catalogues. From there, I was an editorial assistant at Astronomy Magazine before becoming an editor for a local lifestyle magazine.
As an author myself, I understand how terrifying it is to hand over your book baby, but I promise to handle it with care and make sure to still keep your voice and vision in tact. Consider it just an extra level of polish!
